April 7thCall for MCM Delegates to MC Canada Gathering 2022
Registration opens soon for Mennonite Church Canada’s Gathering 2022, “We Declare.” See the Gathering 2022 website for information about plenary speakers, workshops, and more. All are invited to attend the Gathering in person or to participate in select sessions online. You do not have to be a delegate to participate.
Nevertheless, there are business sessions at the Gathering that require delegates from each of the five regional churches. Mennonite Church Manitoba can send 11 general delegates (in addition to 5 MCM Board members and our 2 MC Canada Joint Council representatives). We are looking for delegates from across MCM reflecting our diversity as a regional church. Registration, accommodation, and travel costs will be covered. If you are interested in serving as a general MCM delegate, please email office@mennochurch.mb.ca. The MCM Nominating Committee will process potential delegates and make a recommendation of delegates to the MCM board for approval.
There is also a Young Leaders Experience (YLE) at Gathering 2022. This is a special, guided delegate experience for young people age 17-21, including attendance at Gathering sessions but with special sessions and activities for these young leaders from across Canada. Mennonite Church Manitoba can send 3 YLE delegates. Registration, accommodation, and travel costs will be covered. More information is available in the letter below. If you or a young person you know is interested in participating in the YLE program, have them fill out the application form below and send it to office@mennochurch.mb.ca by May 31. A committee of MCM staff and Board members will choose our 3 YLE delegates from the pool of applicants.
