Greetings to you in Christ Jesus!It is hard to believe we are already in the Advent season. It has been a very full year among us as Mennonite Church Manitoba! Our Board has been engaging congregations in new ways. Our staff have been visiting congregations and church leaders for worship and support. They, along with our committees and working groups, have been active in resourcing congregations and facilitating our shared ministries as MCM. I encourage you to read the attached newsletter and rejoice with us at what God is doing among us.As our hearts and minds turn to celebrating the advent of our Saviour and Lord, reflecting on the gift of God to us in Jesus Christ, many of us also look for ways to give generously out of the abundance we have received from God. I know there are many demands on our finances in these days of high inflation, and there are many opportunities to give to good causes. I encourage you to consider making a donation to Mennonite Church Manitoba this Christmas. Ensure that your giving to your local congregation is adequate, but consider topping that up by giving to our shared ministries as a regional church. We normally receive around $24,000 in individual donations for MCM in November-December each year; as donations are down this year, we invite you to help us expand this to $45,000. Just a little extra can help out a lot.If you would like to make a donation to Mennonite Church Manitoba, you can do so by sending a cheque to our office, by sending an e-transfer to finance@mennochurch.mb.ca, or by donating online at www.mennochurch.mb.ca/giving.
